You don't have to twirl a red cape in front of this bull to get a charge out of it. Red Bull markets its eponymous functional energy drink in more than 70 countries. The nonalcoholic drink contains the amino acid taurine, B-complex vitamins, caffeine, and carbohydrates - not bull testicles or any other rumored ingredients. Red Bull claims that the body needs more taurine (an amino acid) than is produced naturally during physical exertion. The drink has grown quickly, capturing about 70% of the worldwide energy drink market. Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz founded Red Bull in 1987 and owns 49% of the company. Although the company originated in Austria, the recipe for Red Bull is said to come from Thailand.
